“There are few things as charming and attractive as country life, especially when we are tired, stressed, and overwhelmed by the noise and pollution of the city. Country life is the only available type of paradise for people who seek peace, calm, beauty, and harmony.” ~ Unknown
This is my second offering for GC and my photo challenge Peaceful over at Weekly Prompts. I’ve also linked to three other sites (detailed at the base).
Standing on the roof terrace surveying all that is below, I am once more reminded that something is not quite right, something is missing from this green and pleasant land, and if it’s possible to be too peaceful, then this is it.
At the end of March, Richard, the farmer who rents my land called in to pay his rent. “I’ll fetch you some lambs up in a couple of weeks!” – Richard, I’m still waiting!
I love this time of year as I eagerly await the arrival of the lambs. Often we have a few cows with their young calves, and they too bring a lot of pleasure, not least because cows are such curious creatures, frequently hanging over the garden wall, almost as though they’ve popped over for a chin-wag.
Recently, I took the bull by the horns and confronted WordPress about the failure of some our pingbacks, and not being one to let a situation slide, I badgered the company, with questions, and I cheekily offered ideas and advice.

The Photo Challenge this weekend from Weekly Prompts, the site I share with my partner GC is WINGS.
My personal offering to our photo challenge is a mixed bag of wings, both in and out of view!
During a rare break from the heavy rain last week, I enjoyed a morning walk around the Tarn. This local lake is situated close to Leeds and Bradford Airport, Yorkshire, England. The western end of the longest runway runs just above the northern edge of the lake.
It’s Season 2, Week 2 of Friday Follies over at Proscenium. My first entry of the year is a Christmas gift I gave to Woody the Beagle.
Given the after-effects of drinking this doggy brew, maybe it should come with a warning Not for human consumption!
