“I always liked red. It’s a picker-upper.” – Nancy Reagan
This weekend the photo challenge over on Weekly Prompts, the site I share with my partner GC is our December Colour Challenge Flamboyant Red.
Open my wardrobe door, and my love of red is instantly apparent with its unrestrained selection of tops, jackets and scarves. And at this time of year seeing the colour red in flamboyant abundance lifts my spirits high.
My spirits were lifted even higher today when I received the first Christmas card of the season, sent from my favourite Irish comedian. Oh, I just love Jimmy’s humour!
So it must be time for Christmas decorations and Flamboyant Red!

Yes, the color red really does lift one’s spirit!! Perhaps that’s why it’s so widely used during the holiday season. Great Christmas card!!
Love your Snow Elves Sue. I’m impressed by all the detail in each one. Beautiful display with the fireplace and Christmas tree.
Won’t be much red visible here starting tomorrow into Tuesday. Forecasting 8-12″ of snow! Nope, that does not put me in the Christmas spirit!! Bah humbug! 🤗

Thank you Ginger, I agree about the elves, such a lot of detail. I do love unpacking them all. I can’t do fireplace decorating in the kitchen because it’s a freestanding log burner, so I take great pleasure in doing the one upstairs.
No snow here yet but very frosty and icy this morning. Hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. And Thank you for your comments 🙂

Wondering whether to wear red or gold for our charity book sale on Tuesday. I was going to cover the big living room window with a scene of the nativity made out of snow spray but the local shops didn’t have any so it will have to wait until next weekend, Starting the cards tomorrow if we can find the list.Maybe that will get me in the mood.Julie.

I am delighted love that the color red keeps you in the pink and festive holiday spirits. Santa would be thrilled to have you as one of his assistants. And I bet you look stunning in flamboyant red . xx

Hello Santa – thank you for the lovely compliment; I can’t believe you have yet to see me in red. I will make a note of that next time I pack my suitcase. xx 😀

Your lovely decorations, I gather from last year, look amazing, Sue. I’m envious of your fireplace and the fire at Christmas, so unlike our sweltering Christmas period, when at least in our family, decorations tend to be less red and more silver and green. More fitting for the climate!

Yes, a photograph from last year. I’m so glad you like them. I love decorating this fireplace, its colour just lends itself to Christmas decor.
I understand what you mean about your climate. I would love a little of your sunshine right now, outside is white over with Frost this morning and it’s very chilly out there.
Thank you Maureen.

Good Morning Carolyn. Yes, that’s Jimmy, superimposed onto a picture of the Queen. It’s a picture I recognise from the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games with James Bond following on behind her.
I’m glad you like the fireplace decorations, it’s the only area I decorate because except for a small Christmas tree, the kitchen living area doesn’t lend itself to decorations.
I bet you had a great time in kindergarten at Christmas teaching the little ones and going to town with all the colourful glitter and glue! 😀
Thank you for your lovely comments and for the ((hugs)) wouldn’t be you without your lovely warm hugs. 💕💕 thank you 🙂

Yes, ANY holiday was fun with Kindergarten children! 🙂 And to see it all through their eyes, so excited, so genuine, was an honor. 🙂
You’re welcome! 🙂
