woman- jugglingThe great pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do!” ~ Walter Bagehot.

This weekend our Saturday photo challenge over on GC and my site Weekly Prompts  is Satisfaction, and was chosen by GC.

I thought very carefully about this word and asked myself a question.  Am I satisfied?

Has my life given me satisfaction? Let’s find out.

I’ll start at the very beginning…

I had no ambition in life other than to be a wife and mother, and I found it hard to comprehend why any woman could possibly want or need anything else.

I fulfilled my ambition and I was satisfied.

Later I became what my late husband called a professional volunteer. I volunteered for everything, Sunday school teacher, hospice nursing assistant, classroom assistant, chair of the PTA, school governor.

I fulfilled these roles well and I was satisfied.

Against my husband’s wishes, I took up a part-time teaching assistant post at my children’s school.

I fulfilled this role well and I was satisfied.

At school it was suggested I apply to university and do a degree in teaching and learning.

I completed my degree and I was satisfied.

I was offered the job of teaching computing (ICT) to all age groups, and managing the computer network.

I fulfilled my role well and I was satisfied.

Now I’m retired my days are still busy.

I fulfil this role well and I am satisfied!

Okay, technically, this is a photo challenge, so here’s a satisfying photo of my All-in-One computer with its random screen saver!

  1. Hi Sue, being satisfied with what you have achieved in life, is surely a wonderful accomplishment, and these feelings would rest comfortably within your soul……xx

I felt very satisfied reading this post! 🤗 I just ate a piece of cake that was more than satisfying!

On the other hand, I have been both satisfied and dissatisfied with my life. 🙄 School for me was mostly dissatisfying, but not without some highlights. Too bad I didn’t have a teacher I might have had a crush on! 😂😂

Perhaps satisfaction depends on the mood we’re in when something occurs, or when we’re looking back at something in our past.

    🎼 I can’t get no satisfaction 🎼……….

    1. I think you’re spot on there Ginger, our moods have much to do with our satisfaction, then there are those outside influences, the ones that are sent to try us and test our patience, dampen our spirits and create unwanted dissatisfaction. Thank you Ginger, you got me thinking deep there! 😀

    1. Thank you Gerry, I’d noticed lots of bloggers were doing their life stories over a few
posts. I set my myself a target of condensing into one page! 🙂
