Drip Drip Drop

Gerry and Susan hold the fort“When it rains, look upwards, without the rain there would be no rainbow.” Anon

The midweek word-prompt on Weekly Prompts the site I share with my partner GC is Rainy-days and was chosen and written by GC, yes, he’s back with us after an unavoidable short absence.

There’s been a lot of rain lately in Gerry’s neck of the woods, and in more ways than one.

After he discussed his rainy day prompt with me, I began to write my own rainy-day article.

Yesterday morning (Tuesday) in a mad dash to catch the recycling truck, I rushed outside with my recycling bags. I walked back between and under the trees, and when the rain dripped off the branches and splashed gently onto my bare arms the cute little song from Disney’s Bambi popped into my head.

Under the trees 2Away from the trees, I turned my face upwards and closed my eyes, taking delight in breathing in the mild air, and the sweet scent of rain as the light raindrops settled upon my face.

Deciding to take a weather picture for the BBC Weather Watchers, I returned to the house and collected my phone and Sony camera. I took a couple of pictures with my phone camera before swapping to the Sony, and I uploaded one there and then to the BBC.

Raindrops on a spider's webNoticing a spider’s web clinging to the stone wall that had successfully captured droplets of rainwater, aided a change of tack from the post I had originally intended for today.

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSCAlong with Woody the beagle, I resumed walking around the garden, Woody didn’t heed the rain either but held his nose close to the ground, perhaps hunting for an exciting odour that hadn’t been washed away, meanwhile, I focused my camera on the tiny globules of rain that had fallen upon the garden flora.

Enjoy your favourite Disney Characters in the rain.

    1. The prompt was GC’s choice and it offered a range of opportunities. I chose the one that unexpectedly presented itself. Thank you Hussein.

    1. Just rescued this one from Spam along with two others from a few days ago. I wonder what WP has against Australians? πŸ˜€

I love photos of raindrops….on anything! The spider web is just beautiful as are the flowers and leaves. Everything looks as though they are coated with diamonds. Terrific photos Sue. Glad Woody got to enjoy the excursion with you. Thanks for the video. Who doesn’t love Disney?

    1. Me too Ginger, and you’re right they do look like little diamonds. I love Disney especially the old films, I never tire of those. Thank you for your comments and as always they are appreciated. πŸ™‚

  3. Sue,
I just had a comment from Brian…LordBeariOfBow…in the comment section on his last post. He said,
“I’m in hospital ticker trouble don’t know how long will you can you let those that read my stuff know and I hope to be back soon.”

so I wanted to share it with you here.

I would like to publicly thank my partner, friend and blogging colleague Susan for holding down the fort for me during my lengthy hiatus. She did a remarkable job of not only holding down the editorial fort while I was away but also offering lively and entertaining topics of interest for our many readers to enjoy and respond to.

Once again partner the photos presented here are exciting and enticing. The effect of the sun’s rays on the newly drenched trees and flowers and grasses are remarkable.

Once again Susan thank you for sharing your work here. Always appreciated. πŸ™‚
