Owl and Mouse (17) – The Homecoming

The Wednesday Word prompt from Weekly Prompts, the site I share with my partner GC is Time Off.

Firstly, my sincere thanks to Gerry for writing the prompts and challenges during my time off, for taking over the day to day admin of Weekly Prompts, and, importantly,  affording me the precious time to relax and enjoy my three week vacation.

Vacations – a time to de-stress, enjoy companionship and take life at one’s leisure, and if you are anything like me, despite being reminded “This is not a working vacation,” you might even spend part of the time indulging in a little creativity.

My Owl and Mouse comic book series has evolved, The Homecoming, the 17th in the series launches a new look, and also reverts to the original comic strip format.

  1. Oh’ I do love your “Owl And Mouse” cartoons Sue. I’ve been having a little time off from blogging myself …. doing lots of reposting of older works…. going out and socialising, preparing myself and interacting with people when I can….. I suppose I’ve been shut off, and safely locked away for too long !!!

    1. Hello Ivor, Thank you for your comments.
      How are you?
If I remember correctly, isn’t it next week that you jet off to New York? I wish you all the best with your journey, your holiday and of course your health. 🙂

      1. Yes Sue, I’m going April 24th, I’m excited to be going. My health is reasonable, and I think I’ll be able to cope with the long flight over. I’ve done everything I can to get myself ready, I’m, exercising and walking every day. 😁🗽✈️😎

      2. Thank you Sue, yes I’m so pleased with myself. I was really thinking of postponing or cancelling my trip 6 months ago, but here I am, up and flying !!

Welcome back! You were missed Sue. Sounds like you had an enjoyable 3-week hiatus. Good for you!!

Love your comic book. Bright, cheerful, and the characters are soooo cute. Since I’m a new follower of yours, it was great fun seeing it. You are a gal with many talents!

    1. Hello Ginger, thank you for such lovely comments, they are appreciated.
Youngest daughter Sophie did the outline drawings of Owl and Mouse a couple of years ago, I simply carried on where she left off and coloured them in

    2. I did it again, sent it too soon! I forget that return means send when I use the cell phone to reply! I’ve no idea what prompted me to create the Owl and Mouse series, but it’s fun making up new stories and thinking up conversations for them. Thanks Ginger 🙂

  3. That’s really nice – really enjoyed your new comic book! I was not much familiar with such posts from you but it’s obviously a pleasant surprise. Will be waiting for more! ☺️

    1. Oh thank you Nemo. I introduced Owl and Mouse a couple of years ago, but the background is new. There are 17 in the series. I try to give them an airing every few weeks or so. 🙂

    1. Oh. Debbie, thank you for your lovely comments. So glad you like Owl and Mouse. Ridiculous that I chose a predator and it’s prey for a comic strip, but I love these two and there are times when I feel they are almost real! 🙂

      1. It’s a lovely idea, Sue..& occasionally some animals you wouldn’t expect to, do get on..but that makes it all the sweeter! 😊 I always used to have comics as a child, or read ones in my Dad’s newspaper, so it’s nice to see a new one!

All I can say Susan besides welcome back is this: “Marvel Comics look out! Your Owl and Mouse comic book adventures allow many adults to not only relive the carefree and inventive days of their youth but also appreciate your wit, creativity and insights into the mind of your readers. Welcome back. !! Hugs!!
