Number Tracking

“Don’t get all weird about getting older, age is merely the number of years the world has been enjoying us!” ~ Anon.

Yesterday was my birthday. My age? It’s no secret;ย  I’m a year older than last year! Anyway, ย amongst the lovely gifts was a fitness tracker. The family think I have the wrong idea because I’m feeling more excited about having my sleep pattern monitored than I am about counting my steps!

Today is Woody’s birthday he’s three years old! Four-year-old Evie drew him a picture and brought him a special kebab, and I gave him a pheasant, and just like all three-year-olds, he had his gift opening filmed.

    1. Thank you very much Ray. Woody is a very happy chappie. After his gift opening he spent a few minutes running up and down the garden throwing his toy into the air and catching it. Amazing how they do that! I appreciate your birthday wishes, thank you.

  1. Murphy's Law

Happy Birthday Sue. I trust your special day was everything you hoped for and more.

And Happy Birthday to Woody. It’s clear from the video that he was enjoying his special day!! I showed my Murphy the pheasant you gave Woody. She drooled! I guess that means she wants one too! Lol. The drawing from Evie is terrific. Frame-worthy.

The other day we talked about seeing shapes in clouds. So, I’m looking at the drawing and darned if I don’t see an upside down elephant! There are two red shapes on the bottom. The one on the left is clearly a flower. The one on the right …..well, call me crazy, but I see an elephant, upside down. Love it!! I’d love to know if you see it too, or should I start thinking about having myself committed?! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

    1. Just looked at the original paper drawing and turned it upside down and yes I saw the elephant. Good catch Ginger!
Just so you know the small blue drawing towards the left is Woody. Well, the ears are perfect beagle aren’t they?

      1. Sophisticated lady that I am, I went to the village pub and celebrated with Scampi and chips! Sunday lunch we’re going to a favourite Italian place, all of us, my five, plus eleven grandchildren and three husbands, and to clarify they’re not mine, just thought I should mention that seeing as Gerry queried my plans! ๐Ÿ˜‚

      2. Out of character as it is I cannot think of an appropriate reply, so deleting the word โ€˜vastโ€™ I have no choice but to agree with โ€˜Staminaโ€™ ๐Ÿ˜‚

  2. I don’t think my outlook to life has changed much since I was about 28, I’m still just as childish as I was then. I am not rushing to become a grown up I don’t think men do grow up. We still play with the same toys we did when we were young, it’s only the size of the toy that changes.

    1. I donโ€™t think I’ll ever become tired of toys. In fact, I think I’m into toys more now than I ever was, and I do hope that never changes! Thank you Joe ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. Best belated birthday wishes. I remember when I was quite young, I thought anybody over 60 was old. I will be 75 on Saturday. I don’t feel old, I don’t look old and still doing as much now as back then. People get concerned, keep saying, “act your age”. My response, age has nothing to do with it. Hope you had a fun time. Cheers.

    1. I used to think anyone over sixty was old too.
As a twenty one-year-old attempting to buy cigarettes my age was checked and I felt insulted. Today, on days out, I take great delight in having my age queried when I attempt to claim my senior discount!
I hope I never act the number, I’d much rather go with what’s in my head.
Thank you for your comments Dan ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. So it’s true what they say, love is blind ๐Ÿ˜.
Seriously though, that is a lovely comment and I appreciate it, thank you so much. I could also say the same to you Gerry ๐Ÿ™‚ xx

    1. Thank you Lois. Woody likes to take everything outside. We did let him outside and he ate his kebab on the frosty ground and had great fun playing with his pheasant.

  4. Got to love that Woody, couldn’t stopped smiling, He wanted to go outside to bury it by the look of things.

He has the most attractive rear end, I suppose that’s why we got to see so much of it and close ups yet ๐Ÿ˜ˆ

A belated Happy Birthday to you both, at a guess I’d say you were around my age 29 +

    1. Thank you Brian, you are correct I am indeed 29+. We did let woody outside where he played with his toy. Eventually he lay down next to the wall to eat his doggy kebab after his first attempts to bury it were thwarted by the hard ground. It was a bitter cold day something like -5ยฐC and the ground was frozen. ๐Ÿ™‚
