Was it madness or brinkmanship?

A few days ago my partner GC and I created side by side posts that outlined the political unrest, division, turmoil and some of the similarities between America and the U.K.

GC’s article was one of a number that he published this week that have focused mainly upon President Trump’s Government Shutdown.

Today, another friend and blogging colleague commented to me “I think there is a touch of WSC circa 1933 about GC!”

Comparing Gerry’s articles to Churchill’s warnings is a fine compliment!
The remark prompted me to re-blog Gerry’s latest Trump article.

  1. I do find the whole Trump and Brexit mess soul destroying. Trump certainly seems to have an air of dictatorship about him and likewise, the Brexit fiasco seems to be a situation that is beyond anyone’s control. Let’s hope for better days ahead whatever the outcome. 🙂

    1. Your last remark is more or less what I said to Brian (Lord Beari of Bow), an Englishman who’s lived in Australia for over 64 years. You are so right, It is soul destroying Trev.

  2. Murphy's Law

Another fabulous article by GC. I like how he goes right to the heart of the issue. I said before, Trump is a dictator and his only concern is himself. And if we are experiencing the demise of democracy as Derrick wonders, we are in for a world of hurt.

I love GC’s quotes from Groucho Marx and Winston Churchill. I hope both our countries can get their acts together…..sooner rather than later.
