The scale of things

“We all lose our charms in the end but square cut or pear shape these rocks don’t lose their shape – Diamonds are a girl’s best friend.” ~ Marilyn Monroe – (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes 1953)

The Midweek Word-prompt over on our other site https://weeklyprompts.com is Rock Chips and was chosen by GC. He asks for stories that involve rock chips and in particular those that hit our windscreens.

Fortunately, I don’t have experience involving the rock chips GC’s referring to, so I’ve taken a slightly different approach with my response. I‘m focusing on the rocks themselves, both little and large.

Large –  GC said the rock chip was large! Now this is what I call large, I think he ought to be thankful that it wasn’t one of these beauties that hit his windscreen don’t you?

Not your average garden rockery is it? I found these impressively huge rocks last week in the gardens of Chatsworth House, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire.

Little -At the other end of the rock-scale sit these shiny, tiny little rocks, the diamonds in the setting of my Eternity ring.

Our Commitment Ring

A token of love, friendship and commitment – Eternity, very apt don’t you think, because in the words of the Spice Girls friendships never end.  “Make it last forever, Friendship never ends!”

Who could ask for anything more!  Rock on!

You do not need to be a jeweler to appreciate the fact that you Susan have examined and exposed the many facets of the word prompt rocks to a T. Great work. 🙂
