This morning over at our other site Weekly Prompts, GC and I launched our first photo challenge Random, this is my own response to the challenge, but I’ve cheated and have treated it as a word-prompt and a photo-challenge combined. Please do join us.
A Random quote – “Sometimes I surprise myself with the smart things I say and do. Other times, I try to get out of the car with my seatbelt on!”
Yesterday, on the drive over to my favourite lakeside walk I made a slight detour to a small hillside at the end of the airport runway. When I began taking photographs with my camera with the long lens, the chap from the car next to mine asked if I was taking random pictures or did I have a particular reason.
Well, now I think about it, since becoming a blogger almost all my photographs are random. I see something and quick as a flash I’ve captured it.
My actual reason for being on the viewing spot was to watch my eleven year old granddaughter’s plane take off for a Barcelona school trip. Her parents had left her at the airport with her teachers at 6:00 am but were unable to stay and watch, so I did the honours instead.
My first photo choice, therefore, is anything but random!
As a dip may I recommend mixing the lemon rapeseed oil with raspberry balsamic vinegar, absolutely delicious and as a bonus rapeseed oil doesn’t separate in the way olive oil does!
On a very warm morning in May I spotted this lady walking in the grounds of Knaresborough castle. She was overly dressed for the weather and in one hand carried artist’s equipment, in the other was a pet carrier complete with cat!
Someone else slightly over-dressed for the exceptionally warm weather was this dear lady. I spotted her as I walked through the bus station and I couldn’t help thinking she wouldn’t be out of place on the set of an Agatha Christie film. Isn’t she gorgeous and with such a lovely smile.
Back in Knaresborough I found this lady sitting with her small companion.

Yes! All is right with the world in your maiden post RANDOM. Photos are clever and beautiful, Sue. The dip tip is welcomed. Agatha Christie is alive and well in Yorkshire. A jet carrying precious cargo captured. What a grand Saturday. Thanks, Sue!

Great photos. Isn’t Yorkshire drizzle somewhat of an oxymoron?

I, Sue, I tried too link to the Weekly Prompts (random) and couldn’t. I got this message, which may or may not be helpful.
robots.txt is blocking Google and can’t create a site description in search results. (for your site)
This must be so frustrating for you. I would love to follow Weekly Prompts as soon as it is fixed.

They’re bottling and then flavouring the rain I see; Yorkshire drizzle. I much prefer a Southerly buster than drizzle. Get it over and done with in one big hit.
That delightful young lady may appear overdressed but she sure looks in good nick, not carrying any extra weight by the look of her.
That Boeing 737 looks like it’s pretty old, going by the winglets

Apparently, the lady always dresses in a similar fashion, she is lovely isn’t she.
Unlike you, I know nothing about aircraft but hopefully this one’s safe enough, especially as it will be carrying my precious cargo home again soon! Thank you for your comments Brian 😊
