Milking it again

“It seems to me that trying to live without friends is like milking a bear to get cream for your coffee. It is a whole lot of trouble, and then not worth much after you get it.” ~ Zora Neale Hurston

Crag House Farm is a working farm, minutes away from my home and run by the Christian charity ‘Caring For Life.’

IMG_6110Yesterday as part of my birthday celebrations (milking it for all its worth!) I enjoyed lunch with my third daughter Lizzy in the very popular farm restaurant. The restaurant is comfortably housed in a beautifully renovated barn that dates back to the 17th Century.

The farm also boasts a comprehensive farm shop and a delightful little garden centre.

Milking things further (pun intended) I’ve  linked a number of my photographs from yesterday to the photo challenge Variations on a theme.

    1. Thank you Margo. They are beautiful aren’t they and in such good condition. In fact all the plants in this little garden centre were. I was pleased with the way these photos turned out because I used my phone. I’d left my camera at home because I wasn’t expecting to take any pictures.

      1. My friends think I have had my camera surgically attached to my hand because I’m never without it. Even at home it’s no more than 3 feet from me, and I don’t mind carrying it from room to room just in case I see something out the window.
