That’s Entertainment!

I would like say I’m politically aware, I would like to say I know everything that’s going on in every corner of the world, truth is, I’m not and I don’t.

Nonetheless, even I was surprised to hear the political commentator, speaking on the BBC evening news (UK) making these remarks…

The stock market is at a record high and unemployment is at the lowest for seventeen years. Therefore, if you’re an American and not focusing on the circus and pantomime inside the White House, you will be thinking that things are pretty good.”

Surely not!  Aren’t all Americans interested in what’s happening on the White House stage? It’s pantomime at its best.

Apologies if you are still tuned in and can hear my substandard rendition of a song still popular in theatres around the globe – with selected lines!

A clown with pants falling down
Or the scene where the villain is mean.
That’s entertainment!
The lights on the lady in tights
Or the ball where she gives it her all.
That’s entertainment!
The clerk who is thrown out of work
By the boss who is thrown for a loss
By the skirt who is doing him dirt
That’s entertainment
It might be a fight like you see on the screen
A swain getting slain for the love of a queen!!
Some great Shakespearean scene
That’s entertainment
The guy that was waving the flag
That began with the mystical hand

Hip hooray! The American way
The world is a stage; the stage is a world of entertainment

The real showstopper Susan my love will happen when a Krazy Korean will launch a nuclear missile at the United States only to discover that his source of cable connection to the adult scorn channel was incinerated in the process.

Trump is merely a no talent ring master trying to make his mark on a frustrated world.

Before they do blow the world to pieces let me say that I love you very much. 🙂

  2. It is true that current world politics is frustrating me a lot. Everywhere I am seeing a subtle effort to deviate from the “democracy” (not engaging in the debates regarding democracy) which, in my opinion, can be destructive.
Your last line was indeed apt regarding this 😊

I am numb. I live here in Trump’s USA and I cannot explain it. There is such a vomit of news that I can’t but look away. And pray. I can imagine the rest of the world is terrified of what is going on. We’ve not seen its equal played out in the open like this in my lifetime. Yet the good economic news stands as a beacon of hope? I can’t cling to that, either. If this administration has done nothing else it has taught me a very, very valuable lesson. The unbelievable can happen, and yes, anybody can be president.
