I would like say I’m politically aware, I would like to say I know everything that’s going on in every corner of the world, truth is, I’m not and I don’t.
Nonetheless, even I was surprised to hear the political commentator, speaking on the BBC evening news (UK) making these remarks…
“The stock market is at a record high and unemployment is at the lowest for seventeen years. Therefore, if you’re an American and not focusing on the circus and pantomime inside the White House, you will be thinking that things are pretty good.”
Surely not! Aren’t all Americans interested in what’s happening on the White House stage? It’s pantomime at its best.
Apologies if you are still tuned in and can hear my substandard rendition of a song still popular in theatres around the globe – with selected lines!
A clown with pants falling down
Or the scene where the villain is mean.
The lights on the lady in tights
Or the ball where she gives it her all.
The clerk who is thrown out of work
By the boss who is thrown for a loss
By the skirt who is doing him dirt
It might be a fight like you see on the screen
A swain getting slain for the love of a queen!!
Some great Shakespearean scene
The guy that was waving the flag
That began with the mystical hand
Hip hooray! The American way
The world is a stage; the stage is a world of entertainment
