I wish I’d written this excellent post by John Tomsett a headteacher from York.
An excellent article and if John chooses to leave teaching (which he won’t) I’m confident a new post of advisor/speech writer to the Prime Minister would surely be his!
“When Theresa May stood in front of 10 Downing Street yesterday, it was as if she had had no part whatsoever in calling the General Election.
This is the speech she should have given:
I have just been to see Her Majesty the Queen. We discussed the state of our country in the wake of the outcome of the General Election. We agreed that today the country appears more divided than ever – between young and old, between north and south, between rich and poor. I admitted that the General Election had only widened those divisions.”
It would have been something of an honest revelation had she actually used John’s speech.
