The Invitation – Part 2

project-blogPreviously

Making decisions about the Big birthday wasn’t easy. Firstly, did I really want to celebrate when I couldn’t even bring myself to say the number out loud, it’s like saying a dirty word, or Voldemort. It’s such a huge number and the more I thought about it, the more I believed it couldn’t possibly be anything to do with me!

Secondly, if I did have a Big Birthday Bash who should I invite?

Like most people, my friends are from different areas of my life and from different times in my life.  Therefore, there are individual friends I would have liked to have asked, but they wouldn’t have known anyone else. Then there are a couple of good friends I worked with a few years ago, but they too wouldn’t have known anyone. Eventually, I decided to ask the large group of friends I most recently worked with and whom I see regularly, and of course my lovely family.

And suddenly there they are, my lovely friends laughing and smiling in the doorway,   “Happy Birthday!”  My goodness just look at all the gifts, cards and flowers. How kind  my friends are and I feel quite overwhelmed by their generosity.

With Thanks

What can I say… what a lovely evening and one that was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Thank you so much to my family and friends for helping me to celebrate my Big birthday, and for giving me those beautiful gifts. I am so happy you were able to join me.

Grateful thanks to my children for lovingly helping to make the party a gastronomical success and to Victoria and Simon for making sure our plates were full and our cups overflowed.
